Dirgha Raj Prasai is a former member of parliament in Nepal, former consultant of the administrative staff college of Nepal. He has written many books and articles, and is now a political analyst based in Kathmandu contributing to different newspapers and sites.

Republic, secularism and federalism are not Nepal’s issue. The real issues are anti-nationalism, corruption and foreign intervention. The concern of Nepalese people is how to get rid of the real issues. A Republic is not a way out of the problems. Terrorism would take over the nation in the absence of the royal institution. The elements striving to disintegrate the nation by breeding revenge and prejudice should be denounced. As we all know, the main objective of UNMIN is to establish peace in Nepal, but to the contrary, at we have here is- The Team of Representatives-UNMIN” who have been found working against the peace process in Nepal.
We are totally puzzled about whether UNMIN is here to establish peace or confuse the people. We really don’t understand, “What are the interests of UNMIN and America in Nepal?” Why is UNMIN instigating civil war in Nepal? Can UNMIN answer the statements from the Maoist leader ?
Recently, one influential Maoist, Mr. Chandra Bahadur Thapa said (threat loaded statement) in June 8, 2009- ‘The Maoists’ Party still possesses weapons that can devastate the entire Kathmandu Valley. We have safeguarded those weapons that can destroy Kathmandu. Now even the incumbent Prime Minister is not safe. If the Maoists are further teased we can take action against any one on our own.’ What is that ? Is this peace assignment of UNMIN in Nepal? Where is UNMIN ? It is quite frustrating for Nepalese people that the tenure of UNMIN has been prolonged by the Nepalese empowered traitors for the 4th time. After the resignation of Maoist PM Prachanda and Baburam Bhattarai are also expressing the threat that they are going to establish one party communist rule (so-called people democracy) in Nepal.
A Nepalese scholar, Mr. Shashi Malla says- ‘The Maoists want to establish a totalitarian Stalinist state and isolate Nepal from the international arena in pursuit of their antiquated ideology. If nothing is done to stop them soon, our country will be thrown back decades. The Maoist conception of an ostensible federation based on ethnic communities will spell the death-knell of national unity.’
These treacherous leaders of Congress (Girija Prasad), UMA ( Madhab nepal ( present PM of Nepal) Jhalanath, Bamdev & Maoist ( Prachanda, Baburam Bhattarai, Narayan Kaji ) parties have become the stooges of the foreigners as they are finishing off the prestige of the country by disregarding the worth of the Supreme Court and defaming the national army. These leaders of the so called “big parties” do not believe in the rule of law, they are not democratic and they do not believe in the constitutional way. As observed, the business and mentality of 601 members including the leaders the constituent assembly cannot find any way out. Can the country and the people be safe from murderers and the traitors?
Almost all the culprit party leaders are the agents of India. Nepal has always been victimized by Indian imperialism. As we have open border between Nepal & India, we always suffer from Indian intrusion. The infamous Indian intelligence agency ‘RAW’ is working and implementing its grand design to make Nepal and the Nepalese suffer more. Nepalese people are suffering. Since 2005 AD, from the lawlessness, theft, robbery, ransom. road accidents and killing are the by-product of so-called big parties-Congress, UML, Madhesi & Maoist. Nepalese people have seen so many criminals and anarchists enjoying impunity. Is it New Nepal ?
Nepalese people had expected that the UN’s role would be impartial. But the UN could not remain neutral. The UNMIN listens only to the Maoist rebels and the corrupt leaders of the so-called big party totally disregarded the aspiration of majority of the Nepalese people. By hatching such conspiracy of the UNMIN teams are working to push Nepal into a bloodier civil war and conflict. From the very beginning, UNMIN has been demoralizing Nepal Army and supporting Maoist and its rebel by allowing them to keep the weapons with them in the cantonment and let them start the youth force (YCL), who can be the law and order itself as they used to do during their revolution. Nowhere in the world, would a country be able to protect its sovereignty by making the national army weak and powerless? So, we hate such notorious activities of UNMIN.
We earnestly request the UN Secretary General not to make mistake in deploying wrong representatives like the former UNMIN chief the notorious man ‘Ian Martin.’ Although the UN Chief, Secretary-general of UN Hon. Ban Ki-moon was visited 22-hour in Nepal, Nepal couldn’t find any way to open the door. The visit of UN Chief was rather centralized to the Birth Place of Buddha as a pilgrim. We are still confused about his visit to Nepal. What is his intention about the Maoists (Communist Party), his combatants and about People’s Republic in Nepal (one-party totalitarianism)? We couldn’t find any creative answer from UN Chief also. It is the matter of grief for Nepal.
UNMIN teams always tries to extend his duration and this could prove fatal to Nepal’s sovereignty and national integrity. Now UNMIN is going to bargain to extend the duration. It’s because of wrong representatives, that there were bloodshed in countries like Vietnam, North Korea, South Korea, Afghanistan and Iraq. Did UN play any role to avert the civil war? UN also never played any positive role for the right of self-determination of the Palestinians! Why did the UN fail to heal the misery of the people of Lebanon? We Nepalese know very well about the former UNMIN chief Martin’s interest. When he was in East Timor, it was on his initiative that the rebel armies were reintegrated into the National Army and that led to the army rebellion and invited a civil war. He wants the same to happen in Nepal. As Nepal is a sovereign country, Nepalese army is free to do anything for the country. Nepalese people don’t tolerate foreign intervention to our domestic affairs. To save Nepal, Nepalese people want the everlasting institution- ‘the monarchy.’ Nepalese monarchy is the most convincing identity of Nepal’s independence and its sovereignty. The people’s oriented monarchy must be reinstated.

    Dear Mr. Khati jee !
I am also impressed by your website that you have released the very good article. I think, this article of Mr. Prasai will be the great lession fpr the notorious interventers (foreigners).
Nepal’s unfortunate dilemma is that the culprit party leaders are following the foreigners direction. The party leaders are unable to make a unique contribution to the glory of the nation, by emancipating it from its sin of exploitation and thus contributing to the progress of the people. If fact, we Nepalese people are suffering by the destructive role of UNMIN. The UN could not remain neutral. The UNMIN, listening only to the voices and opinions of the Maoist rebels and the corrupt leaders of the so-called big party (Congress, UML, Maoist & Madhesis) totally disregarded the aspiration of majority of the Nepalese people. Therefore, most Nepalese do not support the suspicious behavior and activities of UNMIN.
    Thank you.
