Pakyong chips in Rs 23,390 for Darjeeling landslide victims

PAKYONG, June 15: The Darjeeling Pakyong United Youth Association has chipped in Rs 23,390 in aid of the landslides victims in Darjeeling.
A seven-member team headed by the president of the association, Subash Rai handed over the cash to Gorkha Janmukti Morcha chief Bimal Gurung on June 13 at Gorubathan Parijat Guest House, where a relief camp was opened.
The money was collected from the public of Pakyong in three days time.
Thanking the people of Pakyong for the kind gesture, the Morcha president said that the collected amount would be utilised for the victims in the relief camp.
Saran Kumar Cintury, one of the seven-members in the team said the victims were really helpless.
The team also visited landslide affected area in Darjeeling like Lebong, Batasay, Ghoom, Jorebunglow.
