Nepali student with swine flu symptoms quarantined

Kolkata, July 23 (PTI) A Nepali student, who flew here from Kathmandu with swine flu symptoms was today quarantined and send to a local hospital for treatment.

Pramod Prasad Jaiswal (23), a resident of Kathmandu and student of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur, arrived at the N S C Bose International airport here by an Air India flight from Kathmandu at 6.30 pm, sources said.

During screening at the airport, doctors found Jaiswal had fever and was showing symptoms of swine flu, they said, adding he was quarantined and admitted to the Infectious Disease Hospital at Beleghata for treatment.

His throat swab samples would be send to National Institute of Communicable Diseases, New Delhi, for testing to find out whether he was affected with the flu virus or not, they added.
