Shillong, Aug 12 (PTI) Meghalaya government today said Sport Authority of India (SAI) complex in Shillong has been isolated, 13 persons were examined and more than 100 people who came in contact with a swine flu-affected footballer were treated.

The first positive swine flu case was detected in a footballer Silvit Tongper. He is a SAI player who had gone to take coaching with Arsenal superstar club in Surrey, England.

He returned on August 3 with sore throat, running nose and high fever, sources said.

Director of Health Services K H Lakiang told PTI that he had stayed in SAI hostel for some days and more than a hundred people attended his felicitation programme.

Twelve of them were brought for examination at Shillong Civil Hospital. A boy M Kharsentiu had accompanied Tongper to Shillong. “He was traced today but he had no symptom of swine flu,” Lakiang said.
