Students from Arunachal Pradesh meet President

New Delhi, Aug 19 (PTI) A group of girl students from the border areas of Arunachal Pradesh who are part of the Civic Action programme of the Indo Tibetian Border Police today met President Pratibha Patil at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The batch of 20 girls, who have been here since Independence day, met Patil and described the event as “beyond their imagination”.

“It was beyond our imagination. We never thought we would be able to meet the President,” said Techi Nanu.

The girls met Home Minister P Chidambaram yesterday as part of their interactive session.

Tanushree Majumdar, a teacher accompanying the girls said she was happy the group witnessed the Independence day celebrations in the national capital.

DGP ITBP Vikram Srivastava who also met students told them to pursue their dreams and work had to achieve it.
