Siliguri(ZEE NEWS): GJM president Bimal Gurung on Sunday demanded dissolution of the DGHC (Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council) ahead of the fourth round of tripartite talks on December 21.

At a public rally in Darjeeling, Gurung stressed that the demand for dissolution should be met immediately as agreed at the tripartite talks in Delhi on August 11.

To press for their long-standing demand for Gorkhaland, the chairman and vice-chairman of Darjeeling, Kurseong and Kalimpong municipal boards would resign tomorrow, he announced.

From tomorrow, after they resign from the boards, each board would be left with two members – both government officials.

GJM general secretary Roshan Giri said over phone that they would be a part of any municipal board headed by government official to work for the benefit of people.
