Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has launched a campaign to stop violence against women in Nepal.

The singer, a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Population Fund, has spent four days in the country raising awareness about women’s health issues.

Wearing a turquoise sari with a matching bindi on her forehead, she met Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal to highlight the plight of women who suffer domestic violence.

Halliwell also met community workers to draw attention to the efforts by Nepalese women, the government and health and development workers to promote maternal health.
