A statement made public by Foreign Ministry informed that the MoUs, concerning the inspection station, were signed yesterday by Nepal’s Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala, who is currently on a five-day official visit to China, and her Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi in Beijing.

Three MoUs were signed by them yesterday that were related to offering “vehicles and equipments for garbage collection to Kathmandu Metropolitan Corporation, setting up inspection station at the Tatopani area near Tibet border and a survey of the proposed project to improve the Kathmandu Valley ring road,” informed the statement.

It has appeared that a building, parking area and other infrastructure facilities would be constructed under the establishment of Tatopani Border Inspection Centre.

Apart from this, Beijing was also urged by Koirala to provide customs free access to 497 items to China, in order to slash trade deficit, to which Jiechi responded positively. Koirala was assured that during the next meeting of integrated technical and economic committee, the matter would be discussed.
