It is with immense hurt and distress, that we are raising the merciless killing of eight Indian Gorkhas in Assam’s Sonitpur district by militants belonging to the National Democratic Front of Bodoland(NDFB) on October 4th 2009.

The innocent and helpless Indian Gorkhas, citizens of this country andhailing from a community which has been in the front in shedding its blood for the nation, were gunned down by militants of the Ranjan Daimary-led NDFB group in Bhimajuli village in Biswanath Chariali, about 400 km east of Guwahati on northern banks of Brahmaputra.

The National Democratic Front of Bodoland has been terrorizing the peace loving Indian Gorkhas of Bhimajuli village in Sonitpur district Such anti-national outfits in Assam have been meticulously targetting Indian Gorkhas of Assam, who do not feel safe and secure in their own land.

The Delhi branch of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha urges the union government to ensure the safety and security of Indian Gorkhas residing in Assam. We also demand adequate compensation to the next of family of those killed and an inquiry by a central team into the massive killings.
